Psalm 22 & Silent Saturday: Hope in Confusion

, ,

“My God, my God, why have You forsaken me.” ~Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34

Those words must have been ringing in their ears on that quiet Saturday.

The man they’ve been following, their Messiah, their hope, was abandoned by the God who sent Him to save them?

The confusion. The questions. Where do I go from here? What hope do I have now? What did I misunderstand?

Of course we know now they misunderstood just about everything regarding what Jesus was sent here to do. He was not sent to save Israel from Roman oppression. There was something much grander waiting.

Sunday was coming.

In your “Silent Saturdays”, the in-between seasons of confusion and distance, remember that the story is far from over.

Sunday is coming.

About Me

My name is Nikki. I’m a suburban transplant who now lives a quiet life where morning light spills over pastures and the scent of cow manure fills the air. Between taking care of the home, tending to animals, and nurturing my garden, I’m learning over and over again to lift my eyes up and let God’s grace take over.

Here, I write about the beauty and ache of the everyday moments and ordinary days, about faith that takes root, and about a Savior who meets us in both the noise and the stillness. My prayers is that each story or reflection will point to Jesus so that you, dear reader, will find Him in the middle of your own everyday and ordinary moments.
